Black Hmong Native Clothing Collection

Black Hmong Native Clothing Collection -
Mounted with thread on a Sage suede backing. Framed in a deep shadowbox frame with a mahogany finish. The collection includes earrings made from old US Jet parts from the Vietnam War. The piece between the hat and the top of the coat is a jews harp.


Coral in Amber

“Coral in Amber” - mounted on Dark blue suade backing and side panels with Tru Vue Museum glazing. Frame is from the PBH Line.


Christopher Bordoni Tribute

A community comes together over the loss of a young Marine, Cpl. Christopher Bordoni, in the Afghanistan War. This piece was compiled by Photographer Charles Harrington and designed by Mike at MasterCraft. A thin inner mat of red topped by the crisp white beveled edge of the Marine Blue suade top mat. Framed in a Presto gold-leaf withTru Vue Museum glazing. This tribute hangs at the Cross Roads Bar and Grill Lansing, NY.


Masai Warrior Outfit

Masai Warrior outfit - (please note, some artistic license was taken to include the wide neck piece, which is a female neck piece. The knife would normally be worn on the left side, with the beaded leather triangle in the center of the back.


Moose in the Birches

Moose in the Birches - I designed this mat after searching for a source of birch bark. The bark is thinned, then drymounted to a 8ply rag ma. Finished with a hand rubbed burl frame finished with Tru V Museum glazing. A close up of the matting is below.


Signed Cornell Hockey Jersey

Team Signed Cornell Hockey Jersey mounted with custom insert and sewn to a light grey suade mat. Arm folds were customer’s choice.


Design for the New Law Courts

“Mr. Street’s Design for the New Law Courts” 1871 From The Illustrated London News.
Handcolored. The Matting is composed of 100% cotton rag, off white with an inner painted bevel in red, followed by a gold line laid on top of the mat with a ruling pen. This is followed by another hand ruled line in blue, with a honey pastel panel bordered by another ruled line of blue. The entire project then framed with Tru Vue Conservation Clear glazing in a period hand toned gold moulding.


Two Hole Golfer Mat

A Stencil Cut Mat

A Stencil cut mat. Openings are beveled and are the perfect size to insert photos behind. We use to cut these by hand but today’s computerized mat cutters give us a vast range of text styles to use.
Letters shown are 5 inches vertical. Tru Vue Clear Acrylic glazing over a marine blue rag mat trimmed out in a honey blonde ramin moulding round out this presentation.


1832 Baby Gown

1832 Baby Gown. Hand sewn to the linen rag mat. The inner sides are also lined with linen. An antique gold shadowbox finishes this piece. Last baby to wear the gown was born in 1956.
